Dear Obama Foundation
Thank you for the email outlining Mr. Obama’s book choices for 2023. I have a book suggestion for 2024.
I know that you have many administrative duties to take care of today. It would be so easy to cast my request aside, especially since I am basically from the lower-classes with no political connections. But what you do with this email could change history.
Let’s start. To me, an important date in American history is November 2, 2021. On that date, 30% of Virginians voted for a political party with the following attributes:
1) This party knowingly elected a leader with a controversial pre-political life and questionable political skills in 2016.
2) That leader had four years of high public office and failed to prove his political skills.
3) That leader claimed the 2020 election was stolen.
4) That leader could not provide evidence that the 2020 election was stolen.
5) That leader incited a riot on January 6, 2021 that could have resulted in a constitutional crisis.
6) That leader was looking at a bulldozer of legal trouble coming his way. He would be pre-occupied.
7) That party seemed to be on a path of forming a one-party state.
Despite all this, 30% of Virginians still voted for a political party that supported that leader.
Despite all this, 40% of Virginians could not be bothered to vote for “the other side.”
This 30/40/30 split seems to be America wide — and shows no sign of changing soon.
In 1974, high-ranking Republicans marched into the office of Richard Nixon and said: “Resign or face conviction”. Why did the Republicans give this ultimatum? Not out of the goodness of their heart. They were facing polls of 25% and would be almost wiped out of Congress in the mid-term elections. We could argue that the American democratic process was able to rightly, albeit clumsily, remove an ineffective president at that time.
But on November 2, 2021, American democracy proved that it had lost its ability to self-correct.
It is time for a new way
I have written a book about a new way. Here are some brief points.
1. This way will have no political parties and campaign donations.
2. This way will find better people for public office, many of whom would not consider running in today’s politics.
3. Decisions will be made by collaboration, consultation, and consensus.
4. This new way will be built by average Americans, sacrificing 10 hours a month and learning new political skills.
My books are available for a free read from my website:

Mr. Obama might be interested in this new way.

The Obama Foundation did not respond to this email. I have sent 3-4 more emails to the Obama Foundation in the past year. No response.
