The Middle TDG

Learning to govern

The second stage of TDG development is when the early TDG has functional elections and executive committees. More citizens will be taking notice of this new movement.

New people will be attracted to join the TDG. Some will have the TDG spirit or quickly adapt to it.

Some will need to be taught that spirit, mostly by first-hand experience. These new members will likely be in lowers numbers than the mature TDG voters. So to mature voters should override the immature ways of these new voters.

TDGs will still be amending their constitutions and merging with adjacent TDGs. These actions will increase the skills for TDG governance.

Towards the end of the middle stage, the executive committee may comment on social issues. But I have one caveat: the committee must be unanimous in their commentary. If the decision is not unanimous, that means the Middle TDG needs to enhance its consultation skills. And maybe the next election will find some new blood to find the consensus.

By the way, I would regard a minority consenting to the will of the majority as acceptable consensus. Sometimes we need try out new things and see how they work. Neither the majority nor the minority are always right.

Any commentary offered by the Middle TDG should be regarded only as advice to the current political institutions and public. The Middle TDG should have no expectations this advice will be implemented.
